Scientific departments of the institute

 

1. Department of natural gas processing and transport.

Head of  department  –  Alexander Piatnichko, candidate of sciences, senior scientist.

Development of recourse-saving technologies and equipment for field preparation and processing, liquefaction and pipeline transportation of natural gas as well as natural gas, coalbed methane and oil gas utilization as engine fuel for transport and  distributed energy supply plants.  

 

2. Department of atmospheric air protection from pollution.

Head of  department – Isaak Sigal. - Doctor of Science, professor.

Researches of toxic substances formation conditions at the fuel combustion. Developing of methods and equipment for clean fuel combustion in power engineering, industry, municipal economy and transport. Thermal and catalytic thermal cleaning of gaseous emissions. Study of toxic gases transformation in atmospheric air. Equipment development for distributed heating and development of industrial organic emissions neutralization plants.

 

3. Department of combustion processes

Head of department - Igor  Karp, academician of NASU, Doctor of Science, professor. .Efficient use of gas fuel in industrial furnaces, mathematical modeling of gas fuel combustion processes taking into account ecological aspects, gas fuel combustion equipment and combustion chambers development.

 

4.  Department of gas-thermal processes

Head of department - Boris Bondarenko, academician of NASU, Doctor of Science, professor.

Physical-chemical fundamentals development for metals reduction processes. Development of recourse-saving technologies and equipment for gas-thermal material processing in metallurgy, in particular in powder metallurgy and in engineering industry.  Protective gas application in metallurgical processes. Carbon sorbents technology production development.

 

5.  Department of layer processes

Head of department – Yuri  Khvastuhin, Doctor of Science, senior scientist.

Development and manufacturing application of inorganic materials production technologies for construction and another branches of industry. Processes investigation and resource-saving technologies and equipment development for melting and thermal-chemical treating of materials. Thermal and absorption-catalytic neutralization of factory waste in fluidized bed.

 

6. Department of industrial heating engineering

Head of department – Viacheslav Pikashov, candidate of science, senior scientist. 

Investigation of radiant, convective and composite heat transfer in metallurgy, mechanical engineering and in building industry. Development of high-performance environmentally appropriate technologies and gas-utilizing equipment for material heating. Development of distributed heating systems for free-standing units.

 

7. Department of plasma technology

Head of department – Victor Zhovtyansky,  Doctor of Science, senior scientist.

Investigation and development of pioneer technological processes (manufacture sputtering, surface modification of structural futures, low-graduate fuels and harmful waste products  high-temperature processing and others)  on basis of low-temperature break down plasma of hydrocarbon and other gases utilization
